Extraction of raw materials
In the West we have used most of our natural resources and so they now are extracted from elsewhere, risking significant environmental, social and brand issues if they are not extracted responsibly.
Most raw materials have responsibly sourced options. Some have certification schemes, others are covered by industry codes and standards.
Newleaf supports business and policy makers in identifying provenance of raw materials and manufacturing processes to determine the risk of environmental and ethical harm.
In addition to undertaking our own assessments of the wider impacts of growth and extraction methods we also verify claims of the origins of raw materials for many certification schemes, codes and standards.
