Pollinators in the UK are in a sharp decline for many reasons including the use of pesticides, particularly neonicotinoids in crop seed, parasites and disease and loss of habitat and foraging.
Sometimes the important issues are on our doorstep. That's why Newleaf is supporting our local school which is showing fantastic leadership in the community through their campaign to put the Bee Back in to Bishops Cannings.
Our current project is working with 200 school children to plant bee-friendly plants in gardens and community spaces.
We have two beehives on Newleaf's premises. When the weather is fine, we spend our lunchtimes with them.
